I had the opportunity of staying in a hotel with a slogan that said "we got history" in Newark, New Jersey. There were several factors why we chose the hotel over others. For one, the timing. We made it to NJ around 9 pm so getting a mid to high-range hotel didn't make sense. This particular hotel is old, and when I say old, like old, old that it even has a mail chute on the wall from up the 8th floor. I am talking about Hotel Riviera.
My goddaughter recently made it to the Taekwando National Finals. As a proud godfather and great friends with her dad, I went to see them in Richmond, VA where the event was to take place. Since my friend brought his wife and two other kids with him, a bigger and roomier place to stay was imperative and, of course, one that was more affordable than a hotel, and thus came my first AirBNB experience.
Suffice it to say, it was my first AirBNB experience. I have known of this service for years now but haven't jumped in and joined the bandwagon, always booking hotels and hostels in all of my travels. But after this first foray into the AirBNB world, I think I had a change of heart.
A two-day off in the middle of the week was set aside for an overnight vacation in a beach about 2.5 hours from my physical location in Columbia, MD. One big factor for booking the hotel was because of the dog that I have, 2-year old Siberian Husky Kira. I have always meant to bring her to the beach. The last time in Ocean City didn't work out so in this short getaway, it was not gonna happen again.
Only two hotels were available that, besides from being close to the beach, were pet-friendly in the general area. As Hyatt was a more renowned hotel chain, a decision was made to book an overnight stay at their branch in Dewey Beach.
